For over 20 years SIAL Sound Studios has presented concerts, installations and exhibitions on the RMIT Speaker Orchestra. These events demonstrate techniques from our teaching and research in spatial sound, creating unique immersive listening experiences for students, staff and our external audiences.
For this workshop, a 24 loud-speaker version of the Orchestra will be installed in The Hanger on the RMIT Brunswick Campus.
Over 2 days, staff, HDR candidates and students will work on techniques for sound spatialisation and sound diffusion. The one hour workshop will include short performances, discussion and an opportunity to experience the full system through a range of spatial sound compositions.
