Designing for the Senses

Designing for the Senses introduces students to the principles and practices of sensory design to create meaningful and memorable experiences. This involves the development of a deep understanding of vision, hearing, touch and proprioception.

Students explore the relationship between the senses and human behaviour and learn how to use this knowledge to design products and experiences that meet the physical and emotional needs of people. Through a range of practical exercises with the mediums of light, sound, materiality and space, students develop their skills in sensory design, including ideation, prototyping, user testing and the immersive communication of design propositions.
